The Olson Company was founded in 1988 with the goal of developing high quality "For Sale" residential developments in established communities throughout California. Today, we have a staff of approximately sixty people, each with previous experience in the housing and/or public sector industries. The Olson Company's contribution to the communities in which they build has been recognized in numerous awards including America's Builder of the Year by Professional Builder as well as the Grand Award for the "Best Townhome Community in America" in 1995, 1996, and 1999. During the years of 2000 and 2009, numerous awards were given to Olson including The Golden Nugget Award, NAHRO Award of Excellence, Roundtable West 2006 finalist – multiple categories, Building of America Top Project Award, Quality Assurance Vanguard Award, Mayor's Award for Outstanding Architectural Design, Southern California MAME Grand Award Winner for Sustainable Community of the Year, etc. In addition, the Los Angeles Times, Building Industry Association, the Sales and Marketing Council and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded the company with "The Fair Housing Award for Location, Diversity of Location, Product, Price, Sales and Advertisement."

Over the past decade, the Company has emerged as an innovator in public/private partnerships, affordable housing, and a progressive developer of difficult sites. In-fill development requires an innovative approach and understanding of the many different potential in-fill conditions. Obsolete retail centers, dilapidated housing, remediated oil well sites, adaptive re-use conditions, and urban revitalization all require a different housing solution based on a particular community's needs and goals. The Olson Company has approached "In-Town" development in a myriad of different venues - through unique partnerships with government agencies, service providers, and private landowners to effect lasting and positive change in communities throughout the State. We can facilitate the process for our partners in a timely manner because The Olson Company is a full service firm, encompassing acquisition, redevelopment/entitlements, cost estimating, construction, marketing and sales.
